V0.03 (Demo 3) IS OUT + Patch Notes


I finally pried myself away from marvel rivals, so here's an update for you!!
(This one's WAY bigger than the last)

This update contains a lot of new features, none of that sissy "back end" shit, whatever that even means!

This update in particular is very cool to me, because it's the first time I ever get to shadow-drop something I'm working on.
A friend of mine hosts a Twitch show to show off cool stuff from tiny creators (unlike myself who is physically gargantuan).

When she asked if I wanted to run another trailer on her show I realized I more or less had enough content for a new build so I made the trailer, then added like 50% of the new content so the trailer became immediately outdated before I even launched the new build.

Oops...

DOUBLE OOPS

ADDED:

  • Added the first floor boss: MAYNERD THE ACCURSED DULLAHAN
    • This was the one real goal of this demo, but things quickly got carried away
    • Related: added defense stat for enemies and bosses
  • Added Half Life 2 style Physics Props!!! (This is actually a huge one)
  • Added an AWESOME new visual system for blood/slime/other splatters.
  • Added water for you to swim in!!
  • Added FOUR weapons
    • Two guns
    • Two melee (these are SUPER cool)
  • Added MELEE COMBO'S to one of the swords.
  • Added a very cool pause menu!
  • Added a fancy new death screen (still very WIP but it's better than nothing)

CHANGED:

  • Took away Crocodiles guns (they were too OP)
  • Gave Blue Guy's MP5's (its more flexible than that but it's what they all have right now)
  • Re-implemented a few old mechanics that broke without me noticing
    • Enemies corpses fall in the direction the attack came from
    • Bats can be parried after they die or when they swoop at you
  • Took away Volley Gun's bouncing projectiles because i messed them up.
    • (It was easily the worst weapon anyway)
  • Updated relationship between Bat and Blue Guy enemy types
    • This is basically imperceptible to the average player but it makes it FEEL much better
    • Before, when a bat would pick up a shooter, it would destroy them both and spawn in separate enemies that were made specifically for this interaction, but because they were just copies, they didn't behave 100% the same

FIXES:

  • I don't remember there being any hard crashes in the last build
    • except for the soda machine crash...
      • which I still didn't fix..............
